Taaffes Bar is located in Galway’s Latin Quarter. Galway’s favorite traditional Irish music bar.
Bustling and friendly, this 150-year-old cheery village pub is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. As you pass by its stone facade you can hear traditional Irish music passing through the windows. The bustling bar is well-known for its atmosphere and traditional Irish music which has been playing here for over 20 years. Anyone is welcome to come along and listen or play (if you can) and there’s no cover charge.
Sharon Shannon and Sean Keane have performed here, as well as a number of wandering minstrels and local musicians. Famous for being a GAA pub, Taaffes also sells the best pint of Guinness in the city, and it won’t disappoint. Good quality bar food is served all day with generous keenly-priced portions.
